Mission

Day run on the St. Johns

On Friday 30 October we took SCOUT-01 down the St. Johns below Astor and out onto the open water of Lake Dexter.

The SCOUT-01 tracker card and the Astor gauge card are open, and a card at top left describes the Friday 30 October day mission.

SCOUT-01

Our autonomous scout boat, built to run ahead on the water on its own. It carries a GNSS tracker and reports to a base station aboard the boat, which relays its position ashore to our maps.

SCOUT-01, a small autonomous scout boat with an olive and charcoal hull, running across a tea-coloured river and leaving a wake. A grey tracker module with a short black antenna sits on its deck, and cypress trees hung with Spanish moss line the far bank.
